Mary Mildred Smith

Mary Mildred Smith, 93, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Aug. 18, 2023, at Good Samaritan's Society Senior Living Community in Fairfield Glade, TN. She was born June 28, 1930, in Russell County, Virginia.

Known as Millie to her friends and loved ones, she retired from a decades-long career at Sears in 1994.

After retirement she spent her time volunteering, first at Fort Walton Beach Hospital in Florida, then, after moving to Tennessee, at the Sevier County Food Ministries.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Mildred Juanita Willis; her sons, Stuart Wayne Griffin and William Kenneth Griffin; grandchildren, Christopher Willis, Matthew Willis, Robert Griffin, Roger Griffin, Robin Griffin, Richard Ammerman and Rebecca Ammerman; great-grandchildren Jacob Willis, Emma Willis, and Avery Willis; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Suzie Sanders and Deb McCary.

Millie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Tony Smith, and many siblings.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bilbrey Funeral Home with Millie's grandsons, Chris and Matthew, officiating.
