Martin Thurman Hamby Ii

Martin Thurman Hamby II, age 76, of Ludowici, GA, passed away at his residence on September 14, 2022. Mr. Hamby was born on October 3, 1945, in Crossville, TN, son of the late Richard Perry Hamby and Marie (Miller) Ramey. Martin served in the United States Army and worked as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Mason Lodge Altamaha #227. He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Hamby; brother, Chester Lee Elmore (Josephine); grandson, Richard Hamby: and friend, Ruth McKensie. In addition to his parents, Martin is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen M. Hamby; sons, Martin T Hamby III "Buzz" and Richard Robert Hamby; brother, MacAuther Elmore "Mack". Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Woody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
