William David Quarles

William David Quarles, age 76 of Crossville, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. “David” was born December 25, 1947, in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Bruce Quarles and Mary Emmaline Davis. A graduate of Ellijay High School Class of ’66, he faithfully served as a US Army Ranger in Vietnam and worked as an electrical process engineer for Mobil Chemical and PACTIV in Covington, GA. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker. Survivors include wife Nancy Bliss Quarles of Crossville, TN, daughter Rachel (David)Johnson and sons D. Jay, Jacob, and David Quarles; also stepchildren Elizabeth (Brad) Hooper and Cameron(Becky) Erickson, sisters, Martha (Rev . Franklin) Harper, and Mary Alice McClure, 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Eldridge Quarles and sister-in-law Peggy Quarles and sister Margie and bother-in-law Rev. Marvin McArthur. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 4-8 PM. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1 PM at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dotson. Interment will follow at the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. D.
