William "Butch" Roger Milstead

William “Butch” Roger Milstead, age 81, of Crossville, TN, passed away on November 4, 2024, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Mr. Milstead was born on August 12, 1943, in Washington, DC, son of late William E. Milstead and Elizabeth M. Milstead. Butch served in the United States Army for 3 years as a Tank Gunner and is a twice retired civil servant in law enforcement. He first retired after serving over 20 years as a police officer in Prince George’s County, MD. Butch retired for a second time after nearly 20 years of service with the Tennessee Department of Corrections at both Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary and Cumberland County Sherrif’s Department. Butch is survived by his wife, Samantha Milstead; son, William T. Milstead; daughters, Bonnie Haina (Michael), Karen Watkins, and Andra Kennedy (Nick); 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters Linda Daniele and Pat Haynes, brother-in-law John Haynes; and stepmother, Margaret Milstead. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Milstead and Elizabeth M. Milstead. Memorial Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Saturday, November 16, at 12:00 PM. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 PM prior to the service.
