William "Bill" Edward Hawes

William "Bill" Edward Hawes, age 77, of Crossville, TN, passed from this life on September 15, 2024, at Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville, TN. He was born on April 23, 1947, in Barton City, Michigan, son of the late Clarence Adam Hawes and Hilda Fern (Durr) Hawes. Bill aka “Bear” loved and cherished his family and friends; he was always willing to help someone in need. He was a proud Iron Worker, retiring after 30 great years. One of his great joys was cruising with his wife in his Corvette. He did woodworking in his Man Cave and if you were lucky enough, you would get invited to join him. He was an active member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nita Hawes; son, David Hawes (Angela); daughters, Venetia Shomin, Stephanie Hawes, and Renee Kruger (Jason); son, Tim Adamcryk; grandchildren, Matthew Whipple, Taylor Whipple, Eden Hawes, Darcy Hawes, Cameron Kruger, Connor Kruger, Kate Kruger, Derek Sproull, Ashley Wurster; great grandchildren, Lillian, Grace, Camila, Trey, and Annalise; sister, Carol Hill; and brother, Ken Hawes. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Wardwell. Memorial Service will be held at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Arrangements and Care provided by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
