Walter Ray Cole

Walter Ray Cole, age 82 of Crossville passed away Thursday November 9, 2023. Walter was born December 23, 1940, in Camden, TN to Walter Finus and Pearl Abbott Cole. Walter served in the United State Army from 1964-1966 where he was stationed at Ft. McClellan Chemical Center. After his time in the military, Walter enjoyed a 28-year career of teaching for Cumberland County Schools. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Cole; mother, Pearl Abbott Cole; father, Walter Finus Cole; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Juanita Cole; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Floyd Hutcherson; and brother, Charles Cole. He is survived by his son, Travis Cole (Brooke); 3 grandchildren, Lexis, Randall, and Kayelyn; and his nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Lantana Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to help cover funeral expenses.
