Ruth Lorraine Kwant

Ruth Kwant, age 94, of Cumberland, TN, entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Ruth was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Garrett and Fannie (Pylman) Dykstra on May 26, 1928. She married John Kwant on June 1, 1950. Ruth is survived and missed by Jill (Bob) Linman and Jack (Carol Chabowski) Kwant; five grandchildren, Christine (Nathaniel) Williams, Jeffrey (Jessica) Linman, Nathan (Margaret) Lowing, Jeremy (Megan) Kwant, Casey (Mikki) Kwant, nine plus one great grandchildren; sister (twin), Betty VanderGriend; and sister-in-law, Maxine Dykstra; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kwant; sister, Jorean VanPortfleet; brother, John Dykstra; brothers-in-law, Gordon VanPortfleet, Ade VanderGrient, Owen VanderMolen; and sister-in-law, Alyce VanderMolen. Memorial services will be held 11 am on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508) with Pastor Steve Gibson, officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at Stroo Funeral Home following the memorial service. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Caledonia, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 E. Adams St. Crossville, TN 38555.
