Rosarita K. Rowlands

October 27, 1955 — August 6, 2023

Rosarita Kosana Kornelia Rowlands 1955-2023. The most loving wife of William Daniel Rowlands passed away on August 6, 2023, due to a long illness. Rosarita who was known by family and friends as Rita was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the youngest of Yustina and Urbanus Balay ten brothers and sisters. She attended advanced university studies in Jakarta, Indonesia. Rita worked for several years as a secretary for International Development for the American Embassy USAID in Jakarta. After taking a long leave from her Embassy position she traveled to the United States and attended studies in El Cajon, California where she and Dan first met through Christian Singles while she resided in San Diego, California. Rita and Dan were married in 1991 in Lincoln City, Oregon where Dan worked as a Radiology Director. As a couple they moved to San Francisco and then to Sacramento, California where Rita found employment at the University of California as an Administrative Assistant in Orthopedic research. Rita was part of the Indonesian Christian Fellowship in Indonesia and she and Dan attended church regularly together during their lifetime. After Dan’s retirement Rita moved with her husband to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and eventually to Fairfield Glade, Tennessee where she and Dan made a home for the two of them. Rita with her husband previously attended Central Baptist Church and presently Fairfield Glade Baptist Church. Rita loved being outdoors and traveling with her husband nationally and internationally.  She was fluent in Indonesian, English and the native Dyak languages. She loved to go camping with Dan in their motorhome for many years and spent most winters in Florida. She loved flowers and lots of them. Her friends and family will remember her for her beautiful smile and loving and caring personality, exemplified in her spiritual walk with the Lord. Romans 6:4 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” She is survived by her husband William Daniel Rowlands, Fairfield Glade and seven brothers and sisters and many nephews and nieces still residing in Jakarta, Indonesia. All her family and friends she loved and touched deeply.
