Ronald G. Bomers, 80, of Crossville, TN passed away on March 21st, 2024 at home with family. He was a loving husband to his wife Carolyn for fifty-eight years, a kind and caring father to their two daughters Stacey Caldwell and Kelly Burns, and a loving grandfather to Cameron Burns. Ron loved his sisters Sharon Roberts and Shirley Good who survive him and his brother Gary Shaw who proceeded him in death. Ron was born to Raymond and Myrtle Bomers in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 5, 1943. As a young boy Ron's family moved to Marion, Virginia where he graduated from Marion High School, played on his high school golf team and caddied at his local country club. It was in Marion where he met Carolyn and together they moved to Knoxville TN, made their home and raised their children. Ron graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville School of Architecture. He joined the architectural firm of Barber and McMurry while still in college and he remained for more than 40 years, rising to Senior Partner and CEO before retiring to enjoy time on his property in Big South Fork, TN. Ron had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, hiking, boating, taking care of his horses and hunting the wild boar in Big South Fork. He is greatly missed. A private gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
