Robert “Bob" Daulton Kimbro Sr., age 93. passed away on May 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Bob was born on August 1, 1929, in Davidson County, TN to Theodore Rosevelt Kimbro and Bessie Mae (White) Kimbro. He was one of five children. Bob was a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. After the war, he worked in construction most of his adult life, building sections of I-40 throughout the states of Tennessee and North Carolina for McDowell/Purcell Enterprises. Afterwards, he transferred to installing water lines all over rural Tennessee with Eatherly Construction. In his later years, Bob returned to road building on lake-side subdivisions for R&R Excavating. Bob was a devoted husband, a supportive father, and loving grandfather. He was quick-witted and impossible to beat at checkers; a man of few words, but many smirks. He enjoyed playing Solitaire, working jigsaw puzzles, and spending time outdoors on the family farm. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nannie Sue (Davis) Kimbro; daughter, Michele (Kimbro) Barnwell; son, Robert Kimbro, Jr. and wife, Christie; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Keela, Kaali, Taylor, and Daulton, all of Crossville. He was preceded in death by his parents, T.R. and Bessie, one sister and three brothers, all of Davidson County. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bilbrey Funeral Home. Funeral will begin at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Green Acres Memory Gardens, Crossville, TN.
