Polly (Polli) Jean Billings Burdo, 78, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022, after a long illness. She was born on August 15, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio to Louella Mae (Polly) Pollock, daughter of John Lester Pollock and Mona May Norris of Toledo, and her husband, Carl Waldo Billings, son of Waldo Jessie Billings and Maxine Wohlford, also of Toledo, Ohio. Polly was raised in Toledo and graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1963. One class at a time over 15 years resulted in an Accounting degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in 1994. Polly married James Weber in 1965. From this marriage, their daughter Jill was born. They divorced shortly thereafter. Polly began working for Chevrolet Motor Division in Toledo in 1973 where she met the love of her life, Ronald. Ronald brought three children from his first marriage to the union, David, John, and Laura. After lengthy careers at General Motors in Toledo and then Detroit, Polly and Ron retired to Fairfield Glade in Crossville, Tennessee. They spent the past thirty years pursing the perfect putt and cruising the world. Every spring for over 20 years, Polly faithfully volunteered her time to prepare taxes for the elderly and low-income earners in Crossville. Polly was known for her quick wit and direct nature. Creator of the family hand sign (and proud of it), you wouldn’t want Polly to throw one your way. Polly is predeceased by her mother, father, and step-father, Sherman A Conrad; step-son David; maternal aunt Dorothy Pollock Thiele and uncle Jack Otis Pollock. She leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Ronald, daughter Jill, step-daughter Laura Thatcher, and step-son John. While Polly loved a good party, she specifically asked that no arrangements be planned. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choosing.
