Peter Albert Staab, age 92, of Crossville, TN, passed away on October 17, 2022, at Cumberland House after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on December 23, 1929, in New York City, New York, son of the late Peter J. Staab and Violet (Rummel) Staab. He was married to his childhood sweetheart, Betty Burns, for over 70 years before she passed in Feb 2021. Peter served our country proudly for 3 years overseas during the Korean War. He was a Director of Benefits at Metropolitan Life Insurance for over 35 years. He retired to Fla. in 1988 and became very active in the Knights of Columbus serving in many capacities including District Deputy. He was a volunteer at St. Cloud Hospital and an Auxiliary policeman with St Cloud. In 2011, he and his wife relocated to Crossville to be nearer to family, and still remained active with the Knights of Columbus Council #2162. He was also the treasurer of the Korean War Veterans Assoc, Plateau Chapter #297. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie Folusiak (Thomas), Nancy Moakley (Charles), Mary Beth Komnick (Thomas); son, Peter Staab (Donna); former son-in-law, Gary Bartunek (Mary); 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Peter is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Emily (Burns) Staab; and sister, Marilyn Martin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to K of C Charitable Fund. A Memorial Mass for Peter Albert Staab, age 92, of Crossvillle, TN, who passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, will be held at St. Francis of Assisi on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
