Paul Eggers, Sr.

Paul Robert Eggers, Sr, born in Elmhurst, IL, passed away on July 19, 2024, at Good Samaritans in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. As a young child, his family spent many summers at their cottage. His Dad built on the shores of Bear Lake, Michigan. Paul graduated from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, and soon obtained a job at the Nashville Ford Glass Plant. Paul enjoyed listening to and singing gospel songs and was blessed with a beautiful voice. After retirement, he spent nearly every waking hour on a golf course or watching golf on TV. The love of Paul's life, other than his wife, Hazel, was being on a golf course. Paul and Hazel were happily married for 73 years prior to his passing. Paul is survived by his wife of 73 years, Hazel; son, Paul (Jane) of Brentwood, TN; daughter, Carol of Cheyenne, WY; son, Don (Lisa) of Millersville, TN; grandchildren Eleanor (Fairview, TN) and Robert (Ally) (Brentwood, TN); and great-grandson James (Fairview, TN). He was preceded in death by his father, David; mother, Anne; and brother, David. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Society and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of our parents over the years. No services are planned.
