Patsy Stiles Vaughn

June 15, 1943 — June 6, 2024

Patsy Stiles Vaughn, 80, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, at her home in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. She was born on June 15, 1943, in Michigan to Roy and Ella Flynn. Patsy graduated in 1961 from Flint Northern High School. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and community leader. In the 1970s, Patsy transitioned from driving a school bus for Clio Schools to opening her own real estate business in Montrose, Michigan. She held real estate, broker, and builder licenses and assisted many young couples in buying their first homes through the Farmers Home Administration. A former president of the Montrose Chamber of Commerce and a city council member, Patsy was deeply involved in her community. Patsy very much enjoyed sponsoring and being the official scorekeeper of the ‘P. Stiles and Associates’ softball club. Patsy’s dream was to return to her southern roots, which was realized in 1994 when she moved to Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. A magnetic matriarch, her entire family eventually followed her there. In retirement, Patsy doted on her grandchildren and was an avid tennis, golf, and card player. She was a fierce, independent woman who was never afraid to speak her mind and had a keen interest in current affairs and global issues. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Troy Flynn, and her sister Dora Jean Carr. She is survived by her loving partner and husband of 50 years, Randall Vaughn; her two sons, Montgomery Lee (wife Jeanne Ruppel) and Weston Stiles (wife Janice Stiles). Her daughter Jennifer Diem (husband Richard Diem) and her brother Harold Flynn (wife Gwen Flynn). Patsy was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Mickey, Murphy, and Leta Stiles, Hillary Parker Stiles, Eric Clark (wife Sarah Clark) and Preston Clark. Megan Diem (fiancé Jacob Easton), Sydney & Killian Diem. Great-grandchildren include Maddox & Harrison Stiles, Mako Collins, JJ & Johnny Coulter, as well as Hailey & Allison Clark. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her loved ones feel the best way to remember Patsy is to fiercely love your family and never let obstacles stand in the way of your lifetime goals. Patsy will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew her. No funeral service will be held as the family prefers an intimate celebration of life.
