Patrick Anderson

March 17, 1939 — February 4, 2022

Patrick Lee Anderson, 82, of Crossville, Tennessee passed away at home, surrounded by family, on February 4, 2022 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 17, 1939, he was the second of six sons of Samuel and Caroline Anderson and grew up in the Cincinnati area. Pat graduated from Loveland High School and the University of Cincinnati with a degree in accounting. He worked thirty-one years for the Western Electric Company (AT&T), primarily as a Production Manager. Following a plant closing and retirement from AT&T, he worked an additional nine years for Tyco International as a Maintenance Supervisor. During his career with Western Electric, Pat served as a Junior Achievement Advisor, was a charter member of the Fallston, Maryland Lions Club, and was a corporate representative to the Valley Forge Chamber of Commerce in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He was also a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Pat had a gift for making and keeping friends and had many dear friends from High School, his career, hunting, fishing, and volunteering. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and golf. His true passion, though, was fishing of every type. He was always ready to fish throughout his lifetime. Pat retired to Crossville, TN in 2000 and spent many hours volunteering. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Cumberland County and the Cumberland County Playhouse. Pat also gave back to his community through his service for many years as a counselor and coordinator with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, which provides free tax preparation assistance. After Hurricane Katrina, Pat spent five months in Biloxi, Mississippi repairing and rebuilding homes with Lutheran Disaster Relief. Pat was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of St. Alphonsus Church, where he loved volunteering. He was a member of the choir and a reader. Pat built the church fountain with the assistance of his grand-daughter Caroline. He produced extraordinary sets and props for the children’s Bible story plays, including a remote-controlled snake for the Egyptian Plagues. Pat is survived by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Dottie) Green Anderson, as well as his daughters Sharon Rose Freas (Art), Lee Ann Anderson, and Seana Lynn Anderson-Daughtry. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ian Freas (Maddy), Caroline Hicks (Christopher), April McCall, Caden Marchuk, Marguerite McCall, and Colin Marchuk. Pat and Dottie were also blessed with great-grandchildren Genevieve, JoJo, Parker, and Matt. Pat is also survived by his brothers Jim and Sam (Emira) and many beloved nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brothers Allen, Mike and Tim. A viewing will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on February 14th from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Alphonsus Church on February 15, 2022, at 10 AM. A Burial Service will be held on February 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Hospice of Cumberland County or St. Alphonsus Church Building Fund. Flowers will also be welcome from those who prefer that option.
