Mary Elizabeth Alexander (Gramcrack), age 69, of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2024, at her family residence in Crossville, Tennessee. Mrs. Alexander was born on January 10th, 1955, in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late William Thorncroft Lyon and Katherine M. (Gately) Lyon. She was a homemaker, who always kept everything in order, and everyone together. She was a fierce woman, holding fast to her beliefs and defending those she loved. She always told people how it was, and you always knew where you stood with her. Mary was a collector, and loved to crochet blankets, and bake cookies. Her favorite activities were doing puzzles and watching movies. She loved to eat out as long as the food and coffee was fresh and hot. More so, she became a neighborhood mother by sharing her own cooking with the neighborhood kids. Her love for animals was deeply shown through her care for her dogs. Mary is survived by her two sons, Curtis Simpson (Amanda) and Fred Morse, 3 stepdaughters, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephew, Gary Cardinal and his family. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Sonny) Alexander, Son, John Wayne Simpson, and 2 stepdaughters. A celebration of life will be held at her residence, 1011 Decker Street, Flint, Michigan, 48503 on Saturday June 15th, from 12-5pm.
