Margaret "Peggy" Conover Garwood

Margaret Conover Garwood, known as Peggy, age 77, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Cumberland House. Peggy was born on Sunday, March 26, 1944, in Easton, PA, daughter of Lawrence J. and Margaret Schumacher Conover. She was a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. She and her husband Bob raised their family in Libertyville, IL. She is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and worked as a math teacher for more than 20 years. Her love of teaching carried over to her generosity in sharing her talents and time. Peggy was an award-winning master quilter and is known for her hand quilting techniques that she taught to many others. She made many close friends wherever she lived. Her smile and laugh were contagious. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are appreciated to Hilltoppers (86 Duer Court, Fairfield Glade, TN, 38555) or the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church Permanent Endowment Fund (231 Westchester Drive, Fairfield Glade, TN 38558). Peggy is survived by her husband of more than 55 years, Robert Garwood of Fairfield Glade, TN; Son - Bret Garwood (Christy Field), NY; Daughter - Kimberly Garwood Mages (Mark), OH; Grandchildren - Iris, Sage, Brian, and Derek; Great Grandchildren - Tallie, Kasch, Lola, Easton, and Baden; and Sister - Barbara Conover, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service will be held at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church on Friday, February 25th at 11:00 AM.
