Mabel McCarty, age 105, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away on June 3, 2023, at Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, North Carolina. Mrs. McCarty was born on March 12, 1918, in Mammoth, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles and Lena Ash Hudnall. She moved to Baltimore when WWII started, where she married Clarence McCarty and had a daughter. She then returned to West Virginia several years later. Mabel moved to Florida with her sisters and brother, Mace, Sue, and Paul, along with their families in the late 60s, working at Kmart until retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, and baking. In the late 80s, she again relocated, moving to Crossville with sisters and their families. Eventually she moved to Mooresville, NC a few years ago. Her great grandchildren enjoyed spending time with and listening to her stories about how much the world has changed since she was a child like about the first time she saw a radio, or the first cars that people had, or conditions during the depression and WII. She is survived by her daughter, Cathie Campbell and son in law, Bill; grandsons, John and Matt: great grandsons, William and Daniel; and great granddaughters, Kallie and Alice. In addition to her parents, Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence McCarty; siblings, Mace, Sue, Paul, Ken, and Vernon. Graveside Services for Mabel McCarty, age 105, who passed away on June 3, 2023, will be held at Green Acres Memory Gardens on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM (CST).
