No services are scheduled at this time for Lida Berwyn Coovert, age 100, of Pleasant Hill, TN, who passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Uplands Village. Survivors: Daughter - Karen Barnett; Son-in-law - David Barnett; Grandchildren - Adam Barnett and Justin Straker; Granddaughter-in-law - Chantell Foss; Great Grandchildren - Kell and Garnett Straker; and Nephew - Jim Kincaid. Berwyn wrote much poetry about life in Tennessee, and no one’s words seem more appropriate than her own: MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY As I gazed at autumn beauty A sober thought came to me: These same scenes were gazed upon By eyes that no longer see. Those other eyes are closed in death As mine will be some day; But youthful eyes will gaze upon Autumn’s grand display. As long as there’s a world that turns, Generations will come and go; And the good Lord with great wisdom Will rerun October’s show. The photo may be worn, but it was worn by being carried in her beloved husband Gilbert’s wallet for many years.
