Dr. John Stites III died surrounded by his family on April 20, 2022. He was born July 28, 1949, in Hopkinsville, KY, where he spent his childhood and graduated from Hopkinsville High School, later graduating from the University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Dr. Stites practiced dentistry in Crossville, TN for more than 30 years. After retirement he moved to McMinnville, TN where he became a beekeeper and studied the propagation of plants that bees love. John was also an independent scholar of ancient Greece and served as a docent at the Nashville Parthenon. John was a follower of Jesus Christ, without compromise and without apology. He served his Savior in love, generosity, and leadership. Dr. Stites is survived by his wife, Jennifer Vise Stites, and five sons, David Stites of Duluth, MN, Joseph Stites of Nashville, John Stites IV of Atlanta, GA, William Rachal of Temple TX, and Charles Rachal of Boston, MA. He He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, David and Betty Stites of Hopkinsville, KY, and grandchildren, Matthew and Lenna Rachal, and soon to be born John Stites V. He was preceded in death by parents John Stites II, and Ruth Mccollum Stites, and a daughter Betsy Rachal. The family will hold a graveside service in Crossville, TN.
