John Wayne Adams, better known as “Jug” or “Jughead”, age 55, of Crossville, TN, passed away on September 5, 2022, at Cumberland Medical Center. He was born on June 17, 1967, in Detroit, MI, son of Charles “Chuck” Edward Adams and Martha Jean (Atkins) Monson. John was a resident of Crossville since the age of two. He worked in construction with Brad Williams until this past year and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. John enjoyed sitting on his front porch visiting with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Tara Clanton; son, James Adams; step-son, Chip Kirkland; grandchildren, Madison Clanton, Ayden Clanton, Thane Adams, Raylynn Adams; mother, Martha Monson (Dennis); sister, Rhonda Bilbrey (Jeff); nieces and nephews, Cory Bilbrey, Kailey Bilbrey, Makenna Bilbrey; best friend and co-worker (like a brother), Bradley Williams; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Tammie Adams; father, Charles Edward Adams; paternal grandparents, William Levi and Bell Adams; maternal grandparents, William Dewey and Faye Atkins; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral Services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 4:00 PM with Bishop Tyler Gunderson officiating. Family received friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM prior to the service.
