Joan Hall

Joan Lauren Hall, age 73, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023 at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville. Born in Highland Park Michigan, and raised in Royal Oak, MI, she was the daughter of the late Edna and John Hall. She was a fun-loving girl who loved animals and danced ballet. She graduated from Royal Oak Dondero High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a master’s in education from Tennessee Tech. She moved to Crossville, TN in 1972 where she taught in Crossville Public schools for 35 years before she retired in 2014. Sister of Judith Miller of Crossville. Mother of Jessica Hall-Chase and her husband, Jeff of Oceanside, CA and John Guidara and his wife, Nicole of Chelsea, AL. Adored grandmother of Aleksandr Chase, Emmaline Chase, Harrison Guidara, and one more Guidara on the way. We wish we had more years with her, but we cherish the memories we are so lucky to have. She was a grower and nurturer. From her plants and animals, to her students and friends, to her sister, kids and grandkids, she never stopped helping and taking care of others. We will always remember our shopping trips and lunches, spending time at the beautiful home she made in Crossville, talking on the back porch among her gardening, vacations spent together, board games with Aleks, ‘pet shop’ with Emmy, and playing ‘bumble bee buzz’ with Harrison. She will be forever remembered and loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joan’s name may be made to the American Heart Association.
