Jill Noud

Jill Grable Noud, age 80, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on May 10, 2023, at Cumberland Medical Center. She was born on April 3, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan, daughter of the late Joe and Wave Grable. Being from a military family Jill lived in Texas, Michigan, Alaska, Alabama, England, Mississippi, and New Jersey. She graduated from high school in Trenton, New Jersey and attended Rutgers University and graduated from Oklahoma State University. She moved to Battle Creek and taught school at Ann J. Kellogg school until her retirement. She devoted her life to helping her students learn to read. She was a beautiful light who was quick to provide whatever help her children needed. She always went above and beyond. If she saw that one of her children didn’t have a coat to wear, she would buy one for them. She supported the parents as well. She married Bob Noud and upon their retirement moved to Crossville, Tennessee, where she continued to teach at Christian Academy of the Cumberland’s. Jill was a very beloved stepmother and friend to her husband’s three children. She was always quick with a smile and a joke, and a kind ear when they needed a friend. She will be dearly missed by them all. A beautiful light has gone to heaven and all of her children have gained an angel. She is survived by her brother, Bill Rees and wife, Nancy of Battle Creek, Michigan; sister, Kit Phillips of Sanford, North Carolina; nephew, Greg Rees and wife, Sheri and their children of Battle Creek, Michigan; niece, Kari Thurman and husband Tim and their daughter of Battle Creek, Michigan; niece, Darcy Brown and husband, Darryl and their children of Sanford, North Carolina; stepson, Ray Noud and wife, Lisa and their daughter, Andrea Paige Noud of Portage, Michigan; stepdaughter, Sharon Noud and stepson, Chris Noud, both of Oregon. In addition to her parents, Jill is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kent Noud. No services are scheduled at this time.
