The daring and adventurous life of Jesse Brian Gellatly was tragically cut short on June 14, 2024. However, in his short 39 years on this earth, Jesse lived many lifetimes worth, traveling the world and living in the miraculous of our creator, God Almighty. Born in Portland, OR, Jesse gave his life to the Lord when he was 18 years old and later went on to build and plant churches and schools, sharing the Good News to thousands and being the hands and feet of Jesus across 6 continents and 57 countries. He’s been lost in the Amazon Jungle, hiked the Andes, the Swis Alps, and the Himalayas, and one of his favorite things to do was midnight spearfishing in the ocean surrounding the Islands of Micronesia. In the U.S. Jesse and Kayla led a homeless ministry in Vancouver, WA with their children, and were blessed to be able to give out thousands of meals every month to those in need, as well as bringing the hope of Christ to the lost and broken in our city. In addition to his years of overseas mission work and ministry, Jesse was also the most wonderful husband to his wife, Kayla Gellatly, and an incredible father to his 7 beautiful children; Zoe (14), Tyrone (12), Zion (11), Autumn (11), Zuriel (8), Lily (6), and Jeremiah (1.5). He was also a writer, and self-published author of The Journey Unveiled, a journal about his life. Jesse loved music, especially the indigenous sounds of different cultures. He was a man of purity, and he spent more time with Jesus than with anyone else. Jesse leaves behind both his father and mother, Brian and Dani Gellatly, and his paternal grandmother Aileen Gellatly. He also leaves behind many siblings; Joe (Bonnie), David, Isaiah, Daniel, Gloria (Tim Ober), Levi (Huong), and Grace, in addition to 13 nieces and nephews. He will be forever remembered by his passion for Jesus, absolute goofy personality, his fearlessness and his unwavering faith. A memorial service for Jesse will be held on July 20th, at 11am at 1434 Stanley St Crossville TN 38555.
