James Leon Neal

James “Leon” Neal, age 82, of Crossville, TN, passed away at his home on February 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. Mr. Neal was born on September 22, 1942, in Byrdstown, TN, son of the late Luther Neal and Melva (Amonett) Neal. Leon was an honest and hardworking husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved to piddle around the farm and could fix anything. He also loved gardening and eating out with family and friends. He was the manager at Cumberland Farmers Co-op for 16 years, a long time dairy farmer and enjoyed his retirement for the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Neal; son, Bruce Neal, daughters Melissa Byrant, Kasey (Mitch) Lowe and; grandchildren, Kaigan Caruthers, Levi Lowe, Matthew Lowe, Hannah Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Samuel Lowe, Abby Grace Lowe, and Shelby Byrant; sister, Ruth McCoy; brother, Luther Neal Jr. (Jacqueline); and special niece, Bethany Neal. In addition to his parents, Leon is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Lowe; brother, Huel Neal and his wife Hattie; and brother-in-law, Anderson McCoy. Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Henry Cemetery.
