Helen Jeanette Geisendorff Thompson, 81, of Cibolo, TX, passed away August 21, 2022. She was born on July 15, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Richard A. and Helen G. Geisendorff. She married James (Jim) Richard Thompson, of Crab Orchard, TN in August 1961 in Jacksonville, FL. Her most prized life achievement was raising their four children. The Thompsons lived in Jacksonville, Florida; Dayton, Ohio; Cary, North Carolina; and Houston, Texas. She was a school bus driver for the Alief Independent School District. Helen received numerous awards, the gratitude of her young passengers and retired after 20 years of service. In retirement, Helen and Jim moved to Hebbertsburg, Tennessee realizing a lifetime dream of farming and building a home. She was able to embrace her passion for sewing through machine embroidery and quilting. Her artistry was recognized through many First-Place ribbons at the Cumberland County Fair. Helen’s other hobbies included gardening and bowling. Since childhood she has been active in the Baptist Church. Her husband of 41 years passed away in December 2002. Survivors include a sister Darlene Wilds of Valdosta, GA; a brother, Kenneth Geisendorff, of Jacksonville, FL; her children, Kathy Johnson, of Ellicott City, MD, Scott Thompson of Seguin, TX, David Thompson of New Braunsfels, TX, and Officer Tina Grant of Houston, TX; and ten grandchildren whom she doted over. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. The family will receive friends at Oaklawn Baptist Church, Crossville, TN on Saturday, September 17,2022 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM, with Pastor David Mahan officiating. She will be interred with her husband during a private family service at Haley’s Grove Cemetery.
