Harvey Jackson Byrd Jr.

Harvey Jackson Byrd Jr. (“Jack” or “Jackie"), age 72, of Kingston, Tennessee, passed away on July 31, 2024. Jack was born on August 15, 1951, in Crossville, Tennessee, the son of Harvey Jackson Byrd Sr. and Helen L. (Cummins) Byrd. Jack spent his younger years with his mother at the Cumberland County Playhouse or traveling the country in the summer, and he spent his later years wrangling the four women in his house. He loved to spend time outside by the pool; anyone who knew him knew where he would be after church on a sunny Sunday. He worked at K-25 (East Tennessee Technology Park) until he retired. He is survived by his wife, Vivienne (Reich) Byrd; daughters: Kimberly Byrd, Kristina Mitchell and husband Bradley, Kaitlyn Sosa and husband Quinn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Jackson Byrd Sr. and Helen L. (Cummins) Byrd. A Private Burial was held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Crossville City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Potter’s House Fellowship in Harriman, Tennessee, with receiving of friends from 5:30 – 7pm EST with service to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cumberland County Playhouse or Potter’s House Fellowship in honor of his memory.
