Gypsie Henry Veal

Gypsie Henry Veal, age 78, of Crossville, TN, passed away on June 5, 2024, at Alive Hospice Facility in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Veal was born on January 6, 1946, in Crossville, Tennessee, daughter of Alva Garland Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Fisher) Henry. Gypsie was retired from the State of Tennessee. She served as Administrative Assistant to the late Justice Charles O’Brien on the Tennessee State Supreme Court. She also served at the Tennessee State Library and Archives during the end of her service with the State of Tennessee. Gypsie grew up at Oak Hill Baptist Church. She served many years as the choir director. She is survived by her husband James Veal of Crossville, TN. Her daughter Lourae Cook Henry (Deron) of Columbia, TN. Her grandson Stephen Henry (Sunny) of Lebanon, TN. Her grandson Luke Henry (Ashley) of Columbia, TN. Her son Charlie Cook of Crossville, TN. She is also survived by her sisters Sydney Heusser of Cumming, Georgia and Kim Watson of Iowa Park, Texas. Along with nieces and nephews. Gypsie is preceded in death by her parents Alva and Mary Elizabeth Henry. Memorial Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
