Gladys Sue Butler

Gladys Sue Butler, age 99, of Crossville, TN, passed away on January 20, 2024, at Cumberland Medical Center. Mrs. Butler was born on November 28, 1924, in Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of the late Marshall Houston and Alice (Byer) Houston. Gladys was a teacher and of the Methodist Faith. She is survived by her sons, Jim Cannon (Sandra) & Marshall Cannon (Brenda); 5 grandchildren, Brenda Melton, Margaret Dick (Ricky), Billy Cannon (Sonja), Lisa Elrod (Jeff), and Bryan Cannon (Sonya); 11 great grandchildren, Jessie White, Philip Shaffer, Cassie Dick, AJ Dick, Gina Dick, Tori Cannon, Gabe Cannon, Dixie Elrod, Colt Elrod, Derek Cannon, and Jaryd Cannon; 11 Great Great Grandchildren: Iskac Shaffer, Isabelle Shaffer, Anna Grace Shaffer, Rylin White, Kyleish White, Dysen Mayberry, Alexander Cannon, Jackson Cannon, Oliver Cannon, Walker Cannon, and Sophia Cannon. In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by 1st husband, Ralph Cannon; 2nd husband, Bill Butler; and siblings, Cornell Houston, Wanda Turner, Mary Katherine Graham, Dorothy Pierson, and Juanita Houston. A funeral service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jeffrey Elrod officiating. Burial will follow at Lantana Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Arrangements and Care provided by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
