Gary Ephraim Brewer

Gary Brewer went to join his Heavenly Father on March 16, 2024. He was born in Crossville on June 7, 1950. He received a degree in History from Middle Tennessee State University and a degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University. For several decades he was a fixture at Brewer’s Department on Main Street in Crossville along with his parents Elmo Brewer and Winona Brewer. Prior to its closing he was the store manager. History and genealogy were his passions, he was an extensive reader and was well versed in many topics. He was a proud member of the Crossville Church of Christ which was the focal point of his life. Survivors include: sister, Gale Brewer of Chadds Ford, PA; brother, Tom Brewer of Stone Mountain, GA; niece, Emily Whitfield of Norristown, PA; niece, Tracie Whitfield of Gastonia, NC; cousin, Henson Atkins of Crossville; cousin, Nancy Hyder of Crossville; brother-in-law, Ralph Whitfield of Paris, TN; and others whose lives he touched. We will always keep our memory of him in our hearts. Funeral service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Crossville City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 prior to the service. Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
