Evelyn Cote, age 87, of Crossville, TN, passed away on September 7, 2022, at Cumberland Medical Center. She was born on October 22, 1934, in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Henry and Jane Caron. Evelyn was a highly-sought substitute teacher in two states, an award-winning needleworker and member of Stitchery Guild in FL, a life-long bridge player, member and chairwoman of Panhellenic in Ft. Walton Beach FL, a happy First Mate on her and Richard Cote’s Catalina sailboat, a more-than-competent bowler, a member of the Ladies Club and CCW in Fairfield Glade, and of the Roman Catholic Faith. She and Richard Cote greatly enjoyed travel with Grand Circle after arriving in Tennessee. She loved living here for the friendliness and environment. She is survived by her daughter, Karin E. Wetzel; son, Robert Emmonds; 2 Granddaughters and 1 Great Granddaughter; brother, Robert Caron (Josephine); niece, Christina Caron; and nephew, Robert Caron. In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Emmonds; and her second husband, Richard Cote. A Memorial Service will be at St. Francis Catholic Church on 21-September-2022 at 10:00 AM, with inurnment to follow at the parish columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations in Evelyn’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Alzheimer’s of Tennessee.
