Beloved wife, mom, mamaw, granny, and sister Emma Jean Smith Adams passed away in the comfort of her home on April 5, 2025. Daughters, Phyllis Sisco (husband Steve), Pat Jones (longtime friend Russ Williams), daughter Amanda Adams and daughter in love Nicki Cook (husband Gary); sister, Helen Mcqueen (husband Mike) along with her grandchildren, Tyler Sisco (wife Erica), Tanner Jones, and Shyanne Grace Adams, as well as great grandsons Rally and Cooper Sisco stood beside her as she entered her heavenly home. She also leaves behind brother, Michael Smith (wife Angela) brothers and sisters in law, Danny and Gladys Adams, Eula and Harold Keagle, Dale Crockett and several special nieces, nephews, and their spouses. Along with her mother and mother in law Amanda Jane Adams, she was welcomed with open arms by her husband, Cleo Adams; son, Brian Keith Adams; and grandson, David Keith Adams Miller; brothers and sisters in law, Donald and Maudie Adams, Dennis & Juanita Adams, Wilda and Harold Gibson, & Wanda Crockett, and brother, William Smith. Emma was born in the West Virginia coal mines on June 27, 1945, to Effie Pearl Day Smith later moving to Chicago and that is where she met her love, Cleo. Cleo moved Emma back to his hometown of Crossville where they build their life and raised their children. Emma held many careers over the lifespan including sewing factories and laundry attendants. Being manager of Genesis Market held the top of her list. She welcomed each and every customer with a cigarette and a smile. Emma loved her family and being a home maker. She took pride in her yard and looked forward to working in her flower beds in the summer heat. Emma is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and of the Mormon faith. A porch full of loved ones put a smile on her face. Her strength and the powerful women she was runs through her descendants veins. It comforts them knowing that she is with our heavenly father and passed loved ones. Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Slate Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
