Effie Jane Crawford

Effie Jane Crawford, age 98, of Sparta, TN, passed away at her home on April 2, 2024. Mrs. Crawford was born on June 14, 1925, in Cumberland County, TN, daughter of William Bates Bertram and Daisy (Burgess) Bertram. Effie was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Crawford; son, Thomas E. Crawford; grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Scott Shoemaker, Kristie Shipe (Charlie), Paula Culler (Corey), Marsha Crawford, Ryan Crawford, Janie Bristol (Doug), Monica Crawford, Sam Crawford (Allie) and Katie Crawford; 19 Great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Lewis and Ethel Blaylock. In addition to her parents, Effie is preceded in death by husband, John Thomas Crawford; daughter, Althea "Janette" Shoemaker; son, Donald Lee Crawford; grandson, Matthew Crawford; brothers, Bill Bertram, Dallas Bertram and Carlos Bertram; and sister, Irma Perry. Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Eastland Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee.
