Dorothy Jean Richards

Dorothy Jean Richards, age 92, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away at her home on October 14, 2022 in Crossville, TN. Mrs. Richards was born on September 2, 1930, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Bud Matthews and Violet (Creath) Matthews. Dorothy worked as a cook for the school system and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Johnson (Mack); sons, Doug Richards, Duain Richards (Joyce), and Allen Richards (Rhonda); 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren, and a sister, Carolyn Poole (Clint) of Oklahoma. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by husband, James Robert Richards. Mama will be missed so much by all of us, especially her kids. Never knowing a world without Mama in it, we face a challenge that seems impossible to get through. She loved with an unconditional love and was always there when you needed her. Her last days, as she was struggling, she was always worried about the needs of others. She was always looking for the good around her, and her glass was never half empty! If you knew her, you were blessed, but to call her Mama was the greatest treasure I’ve ever known! Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 1:00 P.M., preceded by visitation from 11:00-1:00.Bro. Officiating will be Bro. Jim Pack and Bro. Mike Kerley, followed by burial at Green Acres Memory Gardens.
