Don Gregory "Greg" Mcconnell

Don Gregory “Greg” McConnell passed away peacefully at his Crossville home on June 22, 2024. Greg passed peacefully, surrounded by his family. Greg was born on October 26th, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was the eldest son of Alya “Dean” Roberson Kanuckle and will be remembered as the protector of his younger siblings, Janet Brogdon, Josh, and Bobby McConnell. Dedicated to his country, Greg served in the United States Air Force. He always dreamed of becoming a pilot and served during the Vietnam War. Greg worked as an accountant, enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball and football teams, and volunteered to serve veterans in the community. He was a proud father and grandfather and will be remembered as a man who loved his family and friends with all his heart. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Laura McConnell; his sons, Lee McConnell (wife Marlee) and Christopher McConnell (wife Jessica); his beloved granddaughters, Ayla and Liliana McConnell; and his mother, Dean Kanuckle. He is preceded in death by his father John McConnell. A private family service will be held. All arrangements and care are provided by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
