Derek "Dic" Shane Brown

Derek Shane "Dic" Brown, age 42, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away on July 30, 2024, at Cumberland Medical Center. Mr. Brown was born on June 21, 1982, in Crossville, Tennessee, son of Frankie Lee Brown and Nancy Jo Steelman Mace. Dic worked as an owner/manager of rental property. Dic adored his family and was a friend to many. Though his struggles were many he loved deeply and his loyalty to those he loved was unsurpassed. Always down for a good time Dic would keep you laughing even through the hardest of times and during those times there was nobody better to have on your team. Derek loved being home yet he enjoyed going places like the beach, amusement parks, pigeon forge, camping or the river. Dic spent his life as a wrestling fan and was once an honorary announcer for a wrestling event. Dic loved music. He was a drummer. Playing the drums came naturally to him from the time he was a little boy. He played in some bands and was a DJ during his career. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his father, Frankie Lee Brown; daughters, Haley Anne Marie Brown and Natalie Rayne Brown; granddaughter, Adalynn Marie McAuley; Siblings, Joanne Cobb (Terry), Steve Presley (Eileen), and Laila Marie Selby; nieces and nephews, Kayla Hahn (Jeremy), Kendelyn Key, Kristopher Cole, Tony Presley (Chelsea), Logan Cole, Dylan Cole, and Emily Cole; in addition to many cousins. He is preceded in death by mother - Nancy Jo Steelmon Mace; grandmother, Laura Lee Brown; great grandpa, Lewis Ervin Brown; great grandmother, Milinda Brown; special uncle, Lewis Thedford "Duke" Brown; nephew, Steven "Booge" Presley. A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bilbrey Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements and Care provided by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
