Denise Martin

Denise Loree Martin, née Mendenhall, passed away on the evening of December 28th, 2021, at the age of 62 in Crossville. She was born on April 16th, 1959, to Lester and Ellen Mendenhall in Newcastle, WY. She along with her husband, were business owners in Crossville for 30 years and elsewhere for longer than that. She took care of three generations of Martin boys, which should qualify her for sainthood in certain circles. Denise enjoyed her garden, genealogy, gourmet cooking, and a good British mystery. She loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, sister Debra Mendenhall, and brother-in-law Larry Bacon. Denise is survived by her husband, Steve Martin, her sons, Drew and Dylan Martin, grandsons, Trenton and Brice Martin, mother Ellen, sisters Donna Mendenhall and Deanna Miller, and brother-in-law Norman Miller. Denise was the loving aunt to Amanda Mendenhall, Lucas Edmonds, Christopher and Maggie Bacon, Mitchell and Madison Miller and Ethan Winningham. Especially close to her heart were her friends Christine and Gary Roberts. While she is missing from this world, she filled those she leaves behind with more than enough love to last multiple lifetimes. In lieu of flowers the family would like to encourage donations be made to the Cumberland House hospice, where Denise was cared for prior to her passing and who the family would like to thank for their care and assistance. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
