David Wayne Miller, 69, of Lenoir City, passed away on January 12th from natural causes. David was born on April 22nd, 1954, to Donald and Yvonne (Bonnie) Miller in Rockwood, TN. After graduating from Cumberland County High School in 1972, he spent a few years working for Ritzman Carpet before completing an electrician’s apprenticeship with IBEW in Oak Ridge. David started working for the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge in 1977 where he worked for several contractors at Y-12 and K-25 until retiring as a superintendent in 2019. David enjoyed sports, music, concerts, grilling out, beaches, dogs, and spending time with friends and family. He especially loved Tennessee Volunteer athletics. He was particularly good at problem solving and fixing things, working on cars, building and contracting, and electrical work. David is survived by sons, Derek and Matthew (Katie), and granddaughter Kaelyn, all of Knoxville. He is also survived by his father Don, of Crossville, brother Mike (Debbie), of Spring Hill, sister Rhonda, of Kentucky, and nephew Curtis (Amye). David was preceded in death by his mother and a niece Stacy. Funeral Service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Green Acres Memory Gardens.
