Clay Nealon

At 6:30 AM on October 20, 2023, our family said farewell to Clay Nealon at Cookeville Regional Medical Center as he passed away peacefully. Clay was born November 24, 1935, to the late Ira Nealon and Stella (Hall) Nealon in Hebbertsburg, TN. He married Christine Barnes on January 25, 1968, in Crossville. He was a loving father to Jeffrey, Richard and Brenda. Clay was always a kind man and watched over and always was there for family, serving as a second dad for many of them or just helping anyway he could. He loved to camp and fish with his family. He doted on his grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, and Abby; and carried that love even further with the next generation Miles and Atreus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard; brothers, Boyd, Floyd, Dallas, and Ronald; and sisters, Syble Nichols, Shirley Wilson, and Faye Thomas. He is survived by wife, Christine; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Thompson (William); son, Jeff Nealon; grandchildren, Tyler McCormick (Natasha), Emily Marsh (Isaac), and Abigail Thompson (Jason); great-grandsons, Miles McCormick and Atreus Lallo; sisters, Ann Norris, Bobbie Hoskins, and Connie Cox; brother, Paul Nealon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bilbrey Funeral Home followed by burial at Crossville City Cemetery.
