Claire Jean Sorensen

Claire J. Sorensen, age 71, of Crossville, TN, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her home. Ms. Sorensen was born and raised in Stevens Point, WI until her teenage years when the family moved to Madison, WI. She graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. Following a lifetime career dedicated to teaching, she retired in Gurnee, IL and moved to Racine, WI with her sister and best friend Karen, who sadly predeceased her. Following Karen’s death, she moved to Crossville, TN where her brother, Richard, and his wife had retired to. Among her favorite things were jig saw puzzles and, most especially, caring for her cat. Ms. Sorensen is survived by and will be dearly missed by her sister, Claudia Andrews (Jim); brother, Richard Sorensen (Monica); nephew, Daniel Sorensen (Elsa); niece, Elizabeth Phelps (Tony). Also missing Claire are her dear friends Suellen Keeran and Arlene Hennig. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton E. Sorensen and Marilyn F. Sorensen; and her sister, Karen A. Sorensen. Private family services will be held.
