Born in Moline, Illinois, on March 3, 1944, Burl lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community. Burl was the cherished son of the late C. Harold Moody and Gladyce Moody. He grew up in Cambridge, Illinois alongside his sister Beverly Bielema, who also preceded him in death. A true son of the soil, Burl embraced farming from a young age and spent much of his life as a devoted farmer. Over the years, his career blossomed further as he became a production manager for corporate hog farms. His entrepreneurial spirit and practical know-how also led him to a successful venture selling industrial fans to hog farms. Beyond his professional achievements, Burl's legacy is defined by his passion for community service and his steadfast dedication to family. For many years, he served as 4-H leader, inspiring countless young people in agricultural practices and community involvement. His love for his sons Bryan Moody and Brett Moody, who survives him alongside Brett's wife Barb, was evident in every aspect of his life. Burl was a proud grandfather to Hayley and Danaca Moody, whom he adored and cherished deeply. An avid sports enthusiast, Burl was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, cheering for his team with unwavering support. His commitment to community and fellowship was further exemplified by his active participation as a Mason, a brotherhood he held dear to his heart. Burl's family finds comfort in the many fond memories he leaves behind and his enduring legacy of kindness, hard work, and love.
