Betty Jo Page

November 15, 1928 — February 26, 2023

Betty Jo Langford Page was born November 15, 1928 in the rural Independance Community in Overton County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Harland Langford and Mona Velma Ramsey. Living in the country near relatives and playing with her siblings Jean Langford Tayse, Robert J Langford, and Judy Langford Hardison Davies shaped her hardworking determination and her joy of living. Attending Livingston Academy provided her the opportunity to be a competitive basketball player shaping her life long love of the game. It was in post war Livingston, Tennessee that she met her husband of 59 years, Thomas Webb Page from Nashville. He was a World War II Marine wounded at Iwo Jima. Tom’s job as a soil conservationist took them to several small towns in Tennessee including Cowan, Dunlap, Cookeville, Smithville and Crossville. The Page family was involved in church activities, sports, and music. Family was a top priority to Betty Jo. She was a loving and supportive mom to daughter, Gail Page Demchik Johnson of Marietta, Georgia and son, Donald Edward Page (Mirhonda) of Phelps, Kentucky. She was a diligent homemaker who loved family gatherings. Those gatherings provided a place for serious competition among the three sisters for praise of their favorite recipes. Betty Jo lived a healthy lifestyle, eating from a garden and staying physically fit through exercise classes, walking, and she even had a personal trainer into her nineties. She was extremely proud of her three grandsons, Steven Demchik of Sparta, Georgia, Kolbe Page (Brittni) of Pikeville, Kentucky, Mac Page (Candace) of Richmond, Kentucky, and great granddaughter Hadley Grace Page. There will be a family graveside service.
