Betty Elaine Fuentes

Betty Elaine Fuentes, age 88, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away on November 1, 2022, at Uplands. She was born on December 25, 1933, in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Frank Fuentes and Margaret B. (Karbens) Fuentes. Betty worked as an instructor at St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. After 34 years, she retired as the Director of Nursing for the school. She earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Loyola University School of Nursing. She went on to earn a Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing at the University of California at San Francisco followed by a Master’s Degree in Teaching Education at Loyola University. Betty was kind, funny, made friends easily, and will be missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Frances Fuentes; cousins, Jackie Morgan, Jack Karbens, Linda Rodrick and Arlene Oyer. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by cousins, Marie Raybould, Lois Karbens and Will Karbens. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Arrangements and Care provided by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
