Bertha Lee Swallows Dillon

Bertha Lee Swallows Dillon, 96, passed peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 12, 2022. She was born September 16, 1926 in Cumberland County to Isaac and Effie Swallows. She was the youngest of nine children. Bertha graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1945 and worked in "The Secret City" of Oak Ridge until she met and married the love of her life and husband of 68 years, Robert Ray Dillon. Bertha worked at Trade-a-Plane in Crossville, TN for nearly 30 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with and cooking for her family. She is survived by her children, Stephen Ray Dillon (Amy) of Cookeville, TN, Cathy Lynne Barker (Danny) of Crossville, TN and Connie James (Kim) of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Ann Pack (David), Carol Ritter (Herby), Michael Henderson, Tara Acedevo (Beto), Chelsea Betcher, and Christopher Salem; great grandchildren, Emmie Pack, Massey Pack, Alex Ritter, Maddox Acedevo, and Harper Acedevo. In addition to her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Dillon; brothers, Carl, Clarence, Benton, Clinton and Haskel Swallows; sisters, Beulah Boatman, Daisy Holt, Gertha Abner and Myrtle Carter. A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
