Aileen Rose Holloway Sherrill

Aileen Rose Holloway Sherrill, 97, passed away July 17, 2023.

Mrs. Sherrill was born May 18, 1926, to Sam and Ida Holloway of Crab Orchard. She was married to Franklin Armonell Sherrill, who preceded her in death in 1977.

She graduated from Crossville high school in 1944 as the salutatorian. She went to nursing school but left to get married. She was a homemaker. She worked as a typist at Retail Credit Company in the 1970's. She loved to plant flowers, weed eat, and mow her yard. She had a garden full of daylilies and flowers. She had a servant's heart and was generous with everyone. Her family meant the world to her.

She loved First Christian Church in Crab Orchard where she was the pianist for many years; also she served as the treasurer.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel Neil Holloway, Donald Byrd Holloway (Betty), Carmen Lynn Holloway (Joan), Jim Holloway, and Willard Holloway; sisters, Cleo Bishop, Wilma Elmore; son-in-law, Bill Cooper; and nephews, Sam Holloway, Harold Holloway, and Lynn Holloway.

Survivors include her daughters, Kay Cooper of Hixson and Vicki Austin (Wallace) of Sparta; nieces, Linda Romaine of Chattanooga, Judy Blasdell of Chattanooga, Shelia Julian of Cookeville; nephews, Don Holloway, Jr. of Cookeville and Ron Holloway of Pittsboro, NC.

Grandchildren: Granddaughter, Leah Cooper of Chattanooga; grandsons, Sam Cooper (Lauren) of Hixson, Jeremy Austin (Lindsey) of Sparta, Jared Austin of Mt. Juliet. Great grandchildren, Liam and Brenna Cooper, Langley and Grant Austin, and Jathan and Judah Austin.

Funeral Services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, at 5:00 PM. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM prior to the service.
